Hey you guys, it's been like a week now, and I can't do anything on YouTube. When I go to my homepage it just has this message, and says "Click to dismiss this message", but clicking does nothing. So, I try to view some videos, and that isn't working either. Can't comment, can't view my private messages, and basically I can't do anything on YouTube. However, I can upload videos, and I can view YouTube videos through this forum when they load. Directly on YouTube nothing works... Could you guys verify if this is a problem for you? I've tried on both Firefox, and Internet Explorer with scripts allowed... I need my Youtube back!
You mean at your you tube link? I didn't have any problems. Maybe it just hates you.
Have you tried reinstalling flash player? Uninstalling/reinstalling FF? Running FF or IE in safe mode? Could you take a screen shot?
As suggested, I would surely make sure that the actions are the same on multiple browsers. If not, try clearing all of your cache for the one that's not working correctly.
Do you have any other strange problems? It a long shot but have you scanned for viruses?
I don't use any kind of personal you tube page so I don't know if that works for me or not. I just know that I didn't get anything on yours.
It works for me. Are you logged into your account on both browsers? Try viewing as a guest.
I tried logging out, and logging back in with no difference. Again, the problem is on both IE, and FF... Really have no idea what happened, but I do know my computer doesn't have any viruses. This problem occurred right after YouTube decided to make their new channel layout permanent. It was previously optional... Now I just get this message saying, "Welcome the the new version of YouTube channels, bla, bla, bla..." There's a button at the end of the message that says, "Dismiss this message", but it doesn't do anything. There's also no way to contact YouTube directly about the problem.
Then that sounds like a problem with the website and not with your computer so I don't know how I can help you with that. Perhaps it is user error.
Yes, it was a problem with YouTube, and that's what I had assumed. Which is why I asked on the forum if anyone else was having the same problem. Anyways, I checked today, and everything is finally working...
I'm glad that you were able to figure it out. It sounded like a server side issue.
Just so you guys know I'm stuck in the same situation again. They got it working for a week, or so, and then back to same problems. I know it's working for other people because they are commenting on my videos, sending me PM's, etc... I can't post replies, or anything!
I downloaded Google Chrome hoping it would work with Youtube, and it was working... All of the sudden the same thing happens after an hour, or so! I really don't know what is going on here...
What about FF or IE? Are you saying that it hasn't been working for you all month?

I have tried it with Firefox & Internet Explorer & Google Chrome. I've posted a few videos that had labeled music playing in the background. Nothing more than that though, and they didn't delete the videos. They just set it up so a link to purchase the song displays.
Check whether you have flash player installed or not and check for the proper link too

He wouldn't even be able to do that if he didn't have flash player involved. We appreciate the help but please read all of the details of the
posts [and not just the initial one] when offering advice otherwise you could end up making a useless post. On top of that, considering that he is a staff member, you'd think that he would know enough to know about that besides if he had the link wrong the video wouldn't even show up in youtube. Besides, there is this post:
