I am lee from India. I love to play games and watch movies. I want Picture Quality, Performance, Best Price. I am very confused between these two. Can anyone tell which is better for me and why?
As for games, the PS3 is more powerful but I don't know if that means that the graphics are better. I don't really play console games anymore. As for movies, thats hands down for the PS 3 because it uses BluRay which is the relatively new standard for hi-def movies. It is better than you would find for DVDs which is what the 360 uses. However to get the high quality of BluRay you have to buy BluRay movies. I don't know about the 360 but PS 3 has DVD "up convert" which takes DVD movies to almost the high-def quality of BluRay. Maybe someone else will know about the games but the PS 3 would be better for movies. The PS 3 is more expensive than the 360 as are BluRay movies (compared to DVDs) but pertaining price of games, I don't know which is more.
There is an additional blu-ray player available for the xbox 360, but of course it must be purchased separate. The PS3 has a built in blu-ray player which is great, but can be very problematic. I always love getting the $50 dollar two year replacement plans on those systems when people buy them at Sears... So, easy to talk people into the replacement plan especially on the PS3's. I would have to say the 360 has a better selection of games, and the graphics are amazing. PS3 also has very good graphics, and a decent selection of games.
I didn't know that they made a BluRay add-on for the 360. I know that they made an HD-DVD add on. Whats problematic about the PS 3 BluRay player? Did you know that they put the games on BluRay?

that it breaks a lot more than the 360
no really though, the 360 is just fine for gaming and movie watching. you can get a ps3, and it does have greater graphics, but the reatailers have said all that needs to be said, there havnt been a lot of games that have come out only for the PS3.
and before i get jumped by any RROD coments about the breaking, microsoft has fixed that problem, and if yours still gets it, it's probubly not all in part of microsoft if you now what i mean. while i know from friends that ps3's break routinely and that there support system isnt as good as microsoft.

Well I like both the 360 and PS3, but I have to say 360 is better, no offense PS3 fanboys but I say it betters. Here are some reasons:
1. More funner games
2. Online is better and doesn't lag alot
3. The controller is more comfortable
4. It's always win in a multiplatform game
5. It has better graphics than PS3 in some games (Madden)
6. 360 is having the natal, while ps3 stoles ideas from wii with their so called playstation wand, which acts like a wii controller.
7. It's more easier to get online for 360
8. Cheaper than PS3
9. More cooler layout than the PS3
10. Has better exclusives (sorry PS3 fanboys)
So I would have to say the PS3 is better in my opinion.

Thinking about getting either a PS3 or 360 for my room now that I have the 32" Samsung LCD. At first I was really considering the PS3 being that it has built in bluray player, but everyone else I know has a 360. Now I'm thinking just get a separate bluray player, and Xbox 360...
NEITHER!!! I stopped with the 64. The controls for the Xbox are too complicated for me. I tried playing Halo but I got slaughtered.
We had to use a bios patch to change the reboot code on the 1st Xbox, because playing halo we often hit all four (L & R & then L Trigger down & R Trigger down) *poof* reboot.

Yes, it's called xbox live, lol.. If it didn't I wouldn't have bought a 360 because online play is what it's all about most of the time! By the way, I've always had a arcade 360, but it's in the living room and a first gen without HDMI port. Now I have one for the room to play on my 720P 32" Samsung!
