Hi to all
I am planning to buy new laptop.But confused little which system to buy.So please share your experience so i can get some ideas.which one is better..?

Windows 7 is the best!

XP ftw. i have vista on my laptop, and it doesnt let me use mod tools for the games i mod. so i'll just stick to XP till microsoft can actually make somethign simple

I think you'll be upgrading and repairing that computer for a long time Slayer. I don't think MS is going to make anything better than XP for a while, in my opinion anyways.

hey xp is simple to use and doesnt hog memory, or require a suped up computer to use it. but were coming out with vista, and on it you wont be able to use any of you origonal knowlage of Xp to operate it, nor will any of your directory based programs work on it, but it's better so get use to it.

[microsoft now] oh, we know that visat was total crap and were sorry, marketing wise, that we forced and advised people to switch to it, but all you have to do is buy this new opreating system that works a lot like vista only it uses less memory.



yeah were getting program scammed. every time MS comes out with a new OS every one is either advised or is forced(with buying new computers) to buy their new operating system. it all makes money for them. and im perfectly happy with XP. vista and windows 7 dont have any new additions worth the $120-$150 for a basic home package.

Actually 7 is suppose to take up less resources than Vista & personally I have had too many problems with Vista. A lot of 7 users are saying that 7 is better than Vista.

Also if you do a lot of gaming you'll eventually have to upgrade because the latest directx version on XP is 9 (which they already stated that they won't change). Vista ships with 10 & 7 with 11. Once new games start solely requiring those (or later) versions of directx with no backwards compatibility you won't be able to play new games. v 10 has been proven to be better than 9 anyway.

In addition in a few years MS will discontinue all support of XP including security and bug fixes.

Windows 7 is alot better than XP & Vista, so I suggest you try it!

I have used both of them and I think windows 7 is way better than vista in speed and performance

I have not used either, other then when I am forced to use Vista at my church..

I used Windows 7 Start bar and man does it look fancy (mod I got off the net).

I think if I were to buy one, Win 7 would be it.

I will always stick to Windows 7, as Windows Vista is very buggy and slow.

What kind of bugs do you find in Vista?

I find that sometimes, Windows vista will randomly not be able to log you on and put you in a temporary account, , and there are a few others of which i can't remember.

That's odd. I've almost never used Vista personally, but that's pretty ridiculous.

Well my Dad had that happen but that's because he renamed his shell folder. Other than that I haven't heard of that happening nor have I had that happen to me. I have yet to fully switch over to 7.

Trust me you should switch over, there are allot less bugs on 7 than Vista.

You don't need to remind me of that. Right now I have Vista set up like I want and it is giving me no problems. I know that some people consider it the modern day ME (or something like that) but I don't think that's true and it really isn't fair. Eventually I'll switch over but for now I'm content with Vista.
