I didnt see a thread for comparing or showing off PC builds so i thought is start one to show off my new project:
NZXT Phantom Chassis- Its a full sized chassis with controls for fan speed on the case. It holds 3) 200mm and 3) 125mm fans. 8 drive slots and 4 HDD slots.

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX- I like this motherboard particularly because of the TUF alloy coating which is a new coating that strongly disperses heat away from the board. Aswell as the RAM slots which can hold up to 32GB.
[
attachment=120]
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1100T- SIX CORES!!! WHOOO!! lol and for the price its perfect.
[
attachment=121]
RAM: Corsair Dominator 4 x 4GB (16GB) DDR3 @1333Mhz- Good brand for an even better price...plus all the reviews on Newegg were 5. I dont kno if my order comes with the dual fans but i plan on getting them.
[
attachment=122]
Graphics: Asus GeForce GTX 560 ti- This should be a far sufficient card to play all the latest games. Its a little pricey but its not the $5000 one and still runs at premium

[
attachment=123]
HDD: Western Digital 150GB Velociraptor @10000RPM- The Western Digital Velociraptor is the far superior brand and its loading speed speaks for that. I may need to get a bigger size or maybe 2 since ive got the space for it.
(No pic it looks no different than any other HDD)
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 series 600W- Thermaltake is a good brand for a PSU they pride themselves on their cooling abilities and all the reviews on Newegg say it runs great w/o heating issues for prolonged running times. I may need a higher wattage tho:/
(Once again no pic they all look pretty much the same)
Questions and suggestions will be answered and are wanted

Why on earth would you need 16 gb (much less 32 gb) of ram. I bet that you almost never exceed 4 gb.
Smoother multitasking, Faster Web surfing, More efficient video editing, Optimized Windows processing, Spectacular gaming, Enhanced multimedia presentations, Efficient networking. I think the ? is why not have it if you can. I understand 32GB is pretty overboard, but i like the idea of having the access to it. Plus on Newegg it was a better deal to get the 4x4GB then the 2x4GB when you compare price to how much your getting.
Do you notice any difference to computers running with 8 or 4 gigs?
Once i had my PC lock up on me while running eclipse, photoshop, a video tutorial, and downloading SDK add ons. It just completely froze and i only had 4GB of RAM then so i dont want to run the risk of a lockup during a hardcore multitask. Aswell i plan on doing some gaming online and the more the RAM the better weather you actually use it or not, especially when playing hosted lobbies instead of servers like BF3.
Wow, that sounds like a "hardcore multitask" to me. I can't concentrate on that many things at once.
I have 4GB in my laptop and I don't have any problem with it getting bogged down. Granted, I don't do many things at once, as I said.
When I first replied I hadn't completely read your first post. It looks to be a pretty solid system. How many USB slots does that motherboard have? I counted around 10.
It does look like a pretty good system.
Thanks I put some time into mixing and matching Brands reading reviews and price matching (btw newegg is getting all my business yet again)...
@RWenger its got 10) 2.0 USB and 2) 3.0 USB on the rear panel I haven't had the chance to see if there's a major difference between 2.0 and 3.0 so that's another thing that sold me on this board
It was some serious multitasking I forgot about eclipse running (which is a Java based compiler for easy coding android apps) then Photoshop I was using to design a couple things for the app and watching the video to show me how to use this blending tool while I waited for my SDKs to be updated...to harsh for wat is now my dinosaur PC lol
I've never used usb 3.0 and the only way that I could would be to get a usb 3.0 card (such as this:
SYBA USB 3.0 2-port PCI-e Card with 5V Molex Power Connector Model SD-PEX20093) since my system is now going on 6 yo--Wow I can't believe that it has been that long since I first put it together. It is still sufficient though. Keep in mind that to take advantage of the capabilities of 3.0 you need a 3.0 device.
The last one I built was in high school for my senior project in 09' even then the components I used were pretty out of date but it ran fine. Also I'm not even sure wats out with 3.0 haven't shopped yet but I'm not gonna have the money for anything else when I order all this. However I think the first add on I get after its finished will be a liquid radiator NZXT makes one specifically for this case but so does thermaltake.

I guess that's true. I'm using eclipse in a class this semester for Android development.

You would also need a 3.0 cord, right? Granted, most devices provide their own cords although they're about a foot long.
At the very least a cord. I would look for something that said usb 3.0 compatible.
That's what I meant, a USB 3.0 cord.
UPDATE!!! a couple set backs have givin me a little more time to shop and im making some changes:
1) AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor - 8 CORES WOOHOO!!
Im liking what ive been reading about BullDozer so i decided to make the jump to an 8 core processor staying loyal to AMD

I wanted the FX-8150 but for $200 this will work just fine...a couple of reviews ive read show it getting up to 3.7GHz overclocked and running smoothly.
2) G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 - this was actually quite a surprise to me as im saving about $40 bucks "for brands sake" (says my roomate) and getting a little more power
3) Still got the same HDD i just upped it to a 450GB dont kno wat i was thinking with the 150

4) Added 2 Asus disk drives, a blu ray/DVD/CD rewritable and a plain DVD/CD rewritable
5) Also the same power supply just upped to an 850w
6) COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler - this i needed because apparently the stock cpu cooler sounds like an old muscle car
7) NZXT FN-140RB 140mm Case Fan - i seem to have been wrong in my first post apparently the Phantom has 2) 125mm fans and 1) 140mm fan that newegg says didnt come with the case and NZXT says does :/ so watever
Nice.

Do you plan to overclock?
I want to and plan to i just need to make sure ive got my fan and cooling system at optimal performance.
I was tooling with my case the other day (when i realized it was missing the 140mm fan) and im starting to doubt its cooling abilities, but i love how it looks.
Now my roomate has a great chassis for cooling its only a mid size tower but its built for easy traveling.
Antec Lanboy Air

As you can see it dosnt really have any solid wall and the entire chassis can be broken down and rearranged. One of the unique things about this case is the suspended drives feature which can actually hang your drives and some other components from the case for better cooling instead of using drive slots
[

Cool, I like the look.

Ive now had some time to do some designing for modding my NZXT Phantom chassis...using GIMP (thanx RWenger) ive over lapped a pic of the inside of the case with one of the outside and placed me designs so they would be cut out of the top layer and leave the inside showing like it will wen its done...there is also a type of atom design logo i plan on making out of thin plastic and placing it under the mesh to the big fan...
[
attachment=126]
i kno its really hard to see the actual design so heres the rough draft i used before i put it down...
[

Well it's not quite my style but whatever works for you.
