Is it good to refill cartridge of the inkjet printer? As its too costly here at my city to buy new every time. Does it affect printer?

I thought these things died out in the 90's? refill kids are still around?

Imagine this... there is a hole for the ink to go in. There is the same hole for the ink to come out.

I've seen the business end of one of these gone wrong. Which is more expensive? The correct ink cartridge, or a refill kit, new shirt, new printer, new paper, new printer stand, new carpet, socks & shoes?

I have seen this. You don't want this!

I have an All in One Lexmark X1100 printer. I have a color cartridge in there, it just ran out of ink, so instead of buying a new cartridge, I got a refill kit and did it myself. Now when I try to print something in black, it turns out green. I thought I didn't have enough magenta, so I put more and that didn't fix the problem. I tried cleaning it and it still hasn't helped. All the colors seem to be off now. What can I do?
