The ring of death is the small red circle around the power button of an Xbox 360 that no gamer wants to see. It means the end of his Xbox for awhile. I know this was a very common problem a little while ago, but has it been fixed since then, because i haven't heard if it happening for awhile?
I have no idea. Our shop used to repair these, but they most often times came back after only 4 to 6 weeks. So we quit offering the service as it was just a waste of customers money & our time.
I remember when my former roommate had that happen. He definatly had it happen once maybe even twice. I'd like to say twice but I don't know that for sure. They promptly sent him out a box when he contacted them. The sad thing is that the ups guy instantly knew what was in the box when he brought it to mail it. I'm not sure if they still have those problems though.

lol why thats just good business pretty much getting paid for nothing
The customers might feel like they are getting ripped off if they have to keep going back for repairs every few weeks. That's a good way to loose a customer.
When the indicator lights on your 360 turn red it a problem covered by Microsoft for three years I believe...

The crappy side of that is after you return your 360 for the RROD (or any repair) when it's returned the coverage is now only 90 days!

As well, our customers insisted that we void the warranty because they didn't wish to wait the 4 months that the unit spends in transit. If it was under warranty, I always urged them to get the repair through Microsoft, & I think half of the repairs we did were warrantied machines. That's kind of sad. They would rather pay to have something done 90% faster than getting it done for free.

But like I said, the entire thing was a wash because it's a poorly designed system, & the repairs obviously didn't work.
One of my friend's xbox got the ring of death and he sent it back to microsoft and they sent him a new one or the old one fixed i don't really remeber which but anyways it only took like 2 weeks.
May be game is not supportable to X Box.
To note also you get the red ring if a connection is loose. Always check that first...
I think the new xbox, the nice sleek black one, was supposed to fix the rrod issue.. They have not been out long but so far I have not heard of an issue myself, but I could be wrong.

sn.. Has anyone here ever had a problem or heard of the open disk problem? I have had two xbox in the past have this issue so for me its more of a problem than the rrod.. just wondering.
No issue with either of mine, but my brothers had the ring of death. Microsoft replaced it. If I would have waited two months could have bought the new 360 elite for same price.... Sad
