Quote:At the ripe old age of 3, Suri Cruise already has a better wardrobe than we do (sundresses in winter notwithstanding), and now comes word that she might have a better set of wheels, too.

Australia's Daily Telegraph claims the mop-topped offspring of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is putting pedal to the metal in a nearly $30,000 "custom-made miniature replica of an Indy race car," which was supposedly presented to her by her "Days of Thunder"-reliving dad.

"Suri has been mesmerized by auto racing on TV, so he thought it would be fun for her to have her own little car to ride in," alleges a source. "If Suri truly takes to the sport, Tom plans on having a little race track installed at his L.A. property."

For now, continues the snitch, "She'll just be going up and down the family's long driveway."

So, anyone else find this a little hard to believe, and not just because it would be really tough for the tot to hit the gas while wearing her ever-present high heels?

Turns out there's no need to call child services (or the highway patrol).

When contacted about the teeny-tiny speed demon tale, Cruise's rep assured Wonderwall that it was so much fried baloney.

While Suri may not have her own car (yet -- we predict a bow-topped Bentley for her big 0-4), she is becoming a bit of a theater aficionado.
I really wouldn't doubt it if that was a true story.
I would believe it... Must be nice to have money like that. Smile
Indeed. I'm looking forward to when Tesla releases that new sub-$50,000 car I heard about on the news. I would really consider getting one of those.
Never heard of it Wenger, could you post pics of it?
You know, this rumor, if it is true, really wouldn't surprise me. To those of us without that much money what the rich spend their money on can appear to be everything under the sun from outrageous to perhaps weird. Also I'm sure everybody would agree that Cruise isn't entirely "normal." Even though I'm saying it wouldn't surprise doesn't mean that I wouldn't be, at the very least, appalled by it; quite the contrary. I think that some of the stuff that some rich people do with their money is outrageous, ridiculous, and extravagant. That $30k could have served a better use towards others (such as the poor) than on what is essentially a suped-up "hot wheels." I can understand wanting to treat your beloved kids if you have the money but only to a point. Is she better off with such a car? I'm sure at her age she would be just as happy with regular hot wheels and if he had the desire to blow that money, at least he could put most of it to good use. Don't even get me started on how the rich and powerful hoard their money and even worse is what they do if they start to lose it. "Oh I've lost a few million this quarter and even though I own billions I'm going to have to fire a couple of hundred workers, that already barely get by, too make sure that doesn't happen again."
Townsbg, I do agree with what you're saying, but that's just how it is in this world. Everything is controlled by money, and no the more fortunate people don't tend to share that money. It can be hard to get a head in this world, but it's your job to try. I wouldn't hate a rich person just because they have money, because in most cases they or their families worked hard for that money, and have a right to spend it on whatever they like.
True but that doesn't mean that I have to like it.Angry
