I installed another plugin tonight that's a browser and operating system indicator. If you look in the bottom-right corner of this post, you should see two images, one representing the browser (I'm posting using Google Chrome) and one representing the operating system (Windows XP). Unfortunately, existing posts will not have this information, and they will display question marks.

Tell me what you think about this new feature.
Thats pretty cool, good ad on.
Thanks Zombie. If you notice, the indicator on my post showed up as Safari. I am using Google Chrome, not Safari. Another thing to look into fixing, I'm afraid.
Interesting modification... Nice feature! Smile
So you're using FireFox Matt... What happened to using your IE Patch program?
Checking it out....
I only use the IE with scripts blocked when browsing unknown sites. Kind of defeats the point of running IE Patch, but it was still a fun program to develop, and I still use it when using IE.
Cool I love it, and FireFox Rules lol
It recognized my other computer as being Ubuntu a little while ago. Smile
Yeah, it's a very cool feature

I've never seen anything about this plugin. Where did you get it? Does it recognize 7?

It's kind of creepy actually. LOL.
I don't know if it recognizes 7 or not. I got it from the MyBB mods page. I figured it would work quite well if we're providing computer support for the computer they're posting from.

True, in my experience most of the time they don't give enough info in their first post; sometimes not any at all. They might say something like "my computer won't start, please help!!!" At DAL I created a signature with a list of common questions that pretty much gets all of the info I need, at least at first. BTW DAL has a hardware scanner. Do you mind if I refer people to it?
Sure, although I was thinking that the first download that we could provide would be a hardware scanner made in AHK.

Well this is an online scanner. No download. But we can provide a down loadable one. With their's all they need to do is run the scanner and post back the provided link. Try it out for yourself, if you want.

I actually tried it when you first said you were from DAL. It didn't work very well for me.
Really? I don't know yet if it is designed with chrome in mind. What happened? I didn't design it & I'm not in charge of it so I don't know. All I do is refer to it as an option of providing us with hardware info, as well as OS. The problem is that if they are brand new, they are restricted and can't post links for 5 posts to lessen spam. Sometimes I forget that and refer it to them anyway. If you are interested I would say to give up chrome for either FF or IE to run that. Chrome might not be popular enough for them to optimize it for chrome. I'm really curious as to why the plug in says Safari for you?Huh
Hardware scanner compiled from AHK script really wouldn't be that hard. Simple GUI interface, and it would look very good! Want me to create this script Robert?

Why cant people that what you to run there program make their applications digital signature valid so it can be verified, I mean come on people. How many folks do you think are actually going to try your stuff when the fist thing they get are security flags and pop up's telling them that their computer will probably melt if they run the app.

If that is true then why have 13,334 computers been scanned? Thats just a warning from MS. Is it not very hard to get that kind of verification from MS because of how paranoid they are? IE hates everything that is not MS related. Also norton hates everything.Undecided
