Well i ve been recently playing warcraftIII:thefrozen throne and some friends of mine and me ofcourse decided to create a network so we can play it as a lan. HOWEVER when we enter the game port ( 6112 ) found on the game play with the title << lan game port>> it doesnt work. I thought it was my anti virus but that wasnt the problem either. Can some1 give me a tip or smth?
Hello kastoriara, welcome to the forum.

I don't play Warcraft, so can't help specifically with the game. There are several things that could be wrong. Firewall settings can block a computer from running as a game server. Not the anti-virus settings... Do you have full access to your internet connection? Router settings will sometimes block too. Are you trying to host the LAN on your computer, or is someone else hosting? Have you tried to find a warcraft forum to search for similar questions, and answers? Most important to check first is that all the computers for the LAN game are connected to the same local area network...
Welcome to the forum kastoriara, It would be helpful if you list your spec's -
Example,
Hardware and specs:
•XP Pro 32bit
•Vista Basic 32bit
•Aztech High Speed USB/Ethernet Modem Router DSL906EU : 1 USB & 1 Ethernet port (modem/router)
•Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router F5D9230-4 : 1 Modem port & 4 Computer port (wireless router)
Warcraft III - Garena - LAN gaming, hosting and ‘mass X ping’
This setup has the following characteristics:
•2 PC within same LAN
•Both can play in each other’s hosted games
•Both can host games
•Solves ‘mass X ping in Garena’
Try these steps
Step 1 : Hardware setup
•Connect a PC - HUB Ethernet cable from modem/router to router‘s modem port.
•Connect PC to router using PC - HUB Ethernet cables
•Plug in the phone line and power source
•Switch on the modem followed by router and PC with 30 seconds interval
•Check that all PC are able to connect to the internet at factory default settings
Step 2 : Modem setup
•Login to modem (192.168.1.1)
•Set DHCP range (modem’s router range) to exclude 192.168.1.255 (Router static IP) e.g 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254
•Port forward 192.168.1.255 (Router static IP), TCP 6112 - 6113 (1 port for each PC playing Warcraft III)
•Port forward 192.168.1.255, TCP & UDP 1513 - 1514 (1 port for each PC connecting to Garena)
Step 3 : Router setup
•Login to router (192.168.2.1)
•Set WAN IP to be Static IP, 192.168.1.255
•Set DHCP range to exclude 192.168.2.254 - 192.168.2.255 (PC static IP)
•Port forward 192.168.2.254 (PC 1), TCP 6112, TCP & UDP 1513
•Port forward 192.168.2.255 (PC 2), TCP 6113, TCP & UDP 1514
Step 4 : PC setup
•At PC 1:
◦set Static IP to be 192.168.2.254, gateway to be 192.168.2.1, subnet mask and DNS as per usual setting
◦Set Warcraft III game port to be 6112 (at Warcraft III, click settings > gameplay)
◦Set Garena to connect via port TCP/UDP 1513 (at Garena login page, click advanced)
◦Setup windows firewall to allow:
■Programs Garena and Warcraft III
■Port TCP/UDP 1513
•At PC 2:
◦set Static IP to be 192.168.2.255, gateway to be 192.168.2.1, subnet mask and DNS as per usual setting
◦Set Warcraft III game port to be 6113 (at Warcraft III, click settings > gameplay)
◦Set Garena to connect via port TCP/UDP 1514 (at Garena login page, click advanced)
◦Setup windows firewall to allow:
Notes :
•IP addresses are configurable, just abide by the rules of the settings, static IP to be outside of DHCP range
•Configurability of Gateway IP is modem or router dependent
•Warcraft III game ports to be within 6112 - 6119
•For Garena game ports, recommended by its website FAQ is 1513.
•Opening up and port forwarding 1514 could cause a security vulnerability.
•Some people have replaced 1514 with a port from the dynamic port range (49152 - 65535)
•At each login of Garena, you’ll need to click advanced settings to enable logging in via the above game ports setup
•Please try at your own risk, feedbacks are welcomed to improve on this guide.
•A possible side effect is during and after playing in either's hosted game, there seems to be problem accessing websites, which could be resolved by Repairing the connection.
Hope this helps
Thank you very much for your help.
Thanks to you i was able to host ( especially with the reply of zombie in which the steps were very usefull)
but it turned out that gt4 was right. My friend's router and firewall were blocking the lan network. Thanks to you , well i told him to check this forum, he is going to put the program to exceptions of his firewall and he created a portal to his router.
You ve been very supportive if i ll have another problem i ll call you xD
