does any one here do any game modding?
i know a lot of you here are from 50megs and i think i already asked that there. but i think there's a few new people here.

as for me, i modd halo PC, and i try modding fallout 3 PC, but my computer doesnt run it smoothly.
As you know Slayer, I can do basic mods to the Halo Trial, but nothing as complicated as your mods.
What are mods exactly?
Modifications to the game to make it play differently. For example, replacing the warthogs with a tank would be a mod.
I remember back when I was playing Homeworld my brother, and I loved to modify that game. We would make the probes super fast, and set the explosion power, and damage really right. Basically made the probes into little nukes. Set them off with scuttle, hehe... That was so much fun! Smile
I see, thats why when I was playing Halo a couple of years back there was a Boeing 747 lol
lol that sound interesting Big Grin
i like the halo mod that one of my friends made. i forget the name, but it basicly made it so that when ever you threw a grenade, and it exploded it would spawn hundreds of other projectiles. makes an awsome show with needeler ammo
Was that someone online or someone I would know?
online.
modhalo.net

search of "spawning"
it should be somewhere there. im not sure what he called it

I did some basic n64 game modding for computer ROMs. These are basically the n64 games in a format you can edit and run on the n64 platform on your computer. I just messed around with some texture edits, was a lot of fun.
That reminds me of Slayer's Gore Hog! Big Grin
I never got into game mods.

Once I edited the names of the teams & Players in Tecmo Bowl (for the NES) just for some laughs. I'd rather use my time actually writing games than just modding existing games.
im enjoying bringing back these old post Tongue i have seen a few mods. A couple of my favorites were online in the original halo, spawning oustide the map and having teleporters made out of heath packs. An interesting one i have seen lately is on the xbox 360 actually, in MW2. People mod so that they have different things like names that include banned items, mods to be the highest rank, and a few for weapons from the original game. Its quite interesting to see what people have come up with.

One of my favorite mods of all time, or what i consider modding, is on old pakemon games emulated on the computer. There are a few programs that allow you to change pretty much what ever you want in the game, level layouts, new sprites, etc. On youtube there are even a few examples of people creating entire new stories completely. Its quite impressive.

I love it when the computer games have a simple text file with game code. So easy to manipulate! Smile
