Welcome to the forum JonSuN8
Right off the bat I would say it's a power issue, power supply's can got out with out any warning.
Use a voltage meter or tester to make sure your power supply is working, but even if it's not - your lap top should still boot off the battery supply unless thats dead also. If batteries sit around for an extended length of time they tend to go dead.
Other reasons could be component failure witch you will more the likely need a technician to repair, as long as it wasn't the hard drive thats damaged all of your data on the drive should be retrievable.

The last time that you used your laptop, was it running off battery? Did the screen appear dim? If the AC Adapter failed, you may have still be running off a fully charged battery, for hours, & not known that there was an issue.
I would check the voltage coming from the AC Adapter (is there an LED on your power brick?). Apart from that, I would try turning it on without the batter, as sometimes a dead battery will not allow the laptop to power on, even from the AC Adapter.
After that, I would open the unit, & start checking the components. I am not suggesting that you do this...
It's possible that the motherboard took a hit & fried. So it's best to narrow it down to the inside by 1st checking everything on the outside

Is your laptop getting very hot? Try taking the battery out of the laptop after running it for a while. If the battery isn't warm it could be faulty.

The only way to know for sure is to test the questionable equipment in a known working environment, & vise/versa.

You could volt test the battery.

Do you notice power in it? Is it's fan working? Just pullout battery, clean it and insert again. May be it helps you.
