My name is Matthew, and I live in New Mexico, USA. I was a moderator on our old http://50megstech.forumer.com/ forum. Wierdo AKA RWenger, Zombiewolve, and I have known each other for years, and all share a general knowledge of electronics, and computer software. We created this forum to help anyone that needs technical support for numerous topics ranging from computer hardware to computer software, and lots more. Cool

So other than the forum I'm very interesting in electronics, and knowledgeable when it comes to software, and hardware. One accomplishment I'm very proud of is my hand built Tesla Coil to which I spent nearly $500 dollars making. After learning about Nikola Tesla, and the Tesla Coil I decided to build one myself. Second coil made is the complete, and finished setup. Capable of creating electrical air streamers over 24 inches long! With a power supply, and capacitor upgrade costing around $150 dollars it could produce streamers over five feet long... Confused

If I had access to more advanced tools, and better supplies I'm sure there would be some awesome stuff I could come up with... Huh
Something else to mention is my vehicles. I own a 2002 Mercedes-benz C32 AMG, and a 2004 Nissan 350Z with full body kit, 19" wheels, cold air intake, custom exchaust, and aftermarket taillights. You can find photographs of both these vehicles in the "Automotive" section. Big Grin

I tried to hook you up with a trade that would accommodate you in that area, What ever happen with that anyway?
I'm planning on starting college, and getting a degree instead of starting directly into the electrician field. Electrician work seems very limited to me. There's that all that much to learn. It would be a good paying job though, and a place to start off at... Smile

Did you look into the apprenticeship program where you can get on the job training , you would probably go to school two nights a week and in the mean time you would be learning on the job and earning a descent wage.
Yes, I did research the apprenticeship program, and the fact that they pay you for you job training is a definite plus. However, as I said, the electrician field seems limited to me. I'm more into electrical engineering than just doing some basic wiring jobs.

The job depends on where your working and who your working for. You can be a Union Electrician and be a electrical engineer at the same time and in thirty years draw you pension and go find something else to do. At your age you would be a young man when you retire. I'll be 58 before I'm eligible and then I'll only be able to draw 75 percent or work another 10 and get full benefits but I'm not working another 10 years. I wish I had thought about what I was going to do when I got old while I was young. You see we can retire at age 55 and we can draw our pension as long as we have 20 years or more in the local. If I had thought about that when I was young I would be more the well off in another 5 years.
