My brother was given a free desktop PC with a mini-tower design. We decided to move all of the components from the new PC over to an old full size tower with shot PSU. Had to in order to install the 256MB GDDR3 NVIDIA Ge Force 7600 GT overclocked by BFG. He talked me into buying a new graphics card, so I would give him that old 7600...
It really didn't take that long to complete disassemble the new pc, the old pc, and place the new components into the old tower. Installed graphics card, and everything seemed to be fine. My brother recently told me there was a problem where his PC would shut down while playing video games, and there would be artifacts on the screen. Darker areas on the monitor would start to show green, and red dots. After that we connected the 4-pin power adapter which was not previously used on the motherboard while in the mini-tower.
That stopped the crashing problem, but he says there is still artifacts after playing games for a while. I'm thinking the graphics card could have been damage by my old PSU that fried. I had to replace a lot of stuff to get my computer running again!
