Yes it said that one was neccessary and as you saw I wasn't activated.

Oh boy I don't know what you did but I can't do anything. I don't know who you chose as a domain provider but web of trust went nuts when I clicked admin cp.

Email activation is broken but one of us will activate you.

As an FYI SS must have let his account expire because it redirects to some search page. I'm not surprised considering that he abandoned it.
