A few years ago the staff members (GT4AWD, Zombiewolve, and RWenger) met on the support forums for 50Megs hosting. At those forums was a moderator who was always helpful and was always around answering questions about the 50Megs hosting. His name was Vince, although we knew him as MrKnowItAll. MrKnowItAll was an inspiration to all three of us. He was dedicated to helping people with their questions and solving their problems. He was always polite, and he always answered every Private Message we sent him. Vince often finished his posts with "Hope this helps, Vince".

However, all of the sudden he stopped going to the forum. The forum quickly fell into chaos. Spam (and worse) appeared all over the forum. The regular members became very concerned about the quality of the forum. RWenger emailed Vince telling him what was going on, to no avail. Forum users tried contact 50Megs with no luck. They sent automated form emails back. Finally, RWenger started 50Megs Tech. It was structured similarly to the 50Megs Technical Support forum. Most of the more active members on the old 50Megs forums joined the new 50Megs Forums.

Their move was just in time. The old 50Megs forum was taken down and was replaced by a help system. The help system never actually seemed to help anyone. 50Megs Tech continued on, answering many computer and website questions along the way. Some members left and other members joined. Then one day we received some quite saddening news.

Vince died after battling cancer. One of his relatives came by the new 50Megs forum to let us know. That day was one the saddest for us at 50Megs Tech. Since then, we have always remembered him. We try our best to help others and be as kind as MrKnowItAll was.

Meanwhile, 50Megs Tech was doing fair, but it wasn't the vibrant community we knew it could become. The forum was hosted with free forum hosting which lacks the features of hosting independently. Also, our forum design limited us to 50Megs support. 50Megs is not a terribly large company, so naturally there isn't an excessive need for support. We eventually reached a decision whether or not to get a domain and host our own forum. An open debate was conducted on the forum. It favored relocation. A slew of private communication and deliberation ensued in the staff sections of 50Megs Tech. Zombiewolve gets the credit for the name "TechnoFyed". His brilliant multi-line poem tipped the scale in favor of the name. We then created the forum and announced the move to TechnoFyed.

So far, TechnoFyed has been a success. We are open to any kind of technical support question, almost any other questions in the appropriate categories, and almost any discussions. We would like to advance the understanding of technology by promoting a cooperative effort to help others. Finally, we remember Vince as we proceed to run this forum.

On January 5, 2011, Technofyed officially declared their status as a Not-For-Profit website. This status means that every staff member at Technofyed is, and will always be, a non-paid volunteer. The staff has never received compensation for their services since the forum's inception, but now it is official that the staff at Technofyed will always be non-paid. This announcement made it clear that the members of Technofyed are here to help you and not for personal gain.

If you or your friends have computer problems, post them here on TechnoFyed. We will do our best to answer your question.

We hope this helps.
