Xbox 360 Video Problems.
Xbox 360 Arcade.
PC w/ Windows XP Problem: I can't share video with it. It says I can share music, video, and pictures from my Windows Based PC with Windows Media Player. I've got all that, and I can play music and look at pictures from my computer on my Xbox, but it always says "No Videos Found" Any Ideas? Any more info needed? |

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
According to this you must be using Media Player 11 or the Zune software & this says that the 360 must have all of the latest updates. Other than that, what kind of video files are you trying to share? There might only be certain kinds that it will allow you to share. You could also try this. Read this and you might need to install DivX. Since I haven't done this thats all that I have.

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
What kind of video do you have saved on your 360? It's most likely the format of the video is the reason you can't play it on your computer.

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
townsbg - I've got the latest version of windows media player, whichever it is, I downloaded it from the Xbox 360 site, and I've got the latest updates for my Xbox, it automatically updates whenever I turn it on.
GT4AWD - I'm not trying to play a video from my xbox on my computer, you've got it vice versa, I want a video from my computer to play on my Xbox. The video files I've tried are: .avi and .wmv |

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
How are you using your Xbox to access the files on the computer?

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
The Xbox 360 has the ability to access music, pictures, and videos through a windows based PC that has Windows Media Player. However, I can't seem to access videos.
That is my question. |

Personally, I don't know what the problem is because I've never tried to do this. I don't even like them. Have you tried the user's manual?

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.
Basically, you install Windows Media Player on your PC if it's not already there, add whatever files you want to share to your WMP library. Then, you go and set WMP to share media with the Xbox 360. Once that's done, you go on the Xbox 360, to the "My Xbox" tab, and over to either Videos, Music, or Pictures, depending on what you're trying to do. Music, for example, you open up the Music tab and then you select either Hard Drive, USB connect, Music Disc, or Connected PC, go to one, and your music is there, same thing with pictures. However, when I go to the video tab, connect to the computer, it says no videos found. I've tried all the suggestions given on the Xbox 360, and all the suggestions on the Xbox website. Also tried changing the video files, resetting my modem, router, and computers, I'm just out of ideas. |

Again, since I don't use a 360 if these don't work I don't know what to tell you. I hope that someone else does. ![]() TechnoFyed Forums Senior Staff Member |

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
Have you tried adding the videos to your media player list? Move all your videos to a single folder, select all, right click, and select, "Add to Windows Media Player list."

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
The reason I asked the question I did, is because you have yet to say that you can even see the files. I'm assuming that the machines are on a network (via Ethernet or wireless), & you have done the proper troubleshooting to assure that each machine can see the other node on the network? I mean, based on your description someone could very well open a brand new 360, a brand new pc, set them side by side & they can start magically sharing resources. The key element that I don't see here is how they are attached on a network & are visible to one another.

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
I've got the PC and the Xbox 360 hooked up together by internet cables through a router.
From the computer, I can see that the Xbox 360 is connected, and from the Xbox 360 I can see the computer connected. I've tried all the troubleshooting for the Xbox 360. I've moved the videos to the default "My Videos" folder on the pc. and then I've tried moving them to the "Shared Video" folder on the computer. I have added them to my Media Library. I cannot see any video files. |

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
The problem probably lies in the ANA or HANA video encoder IC or in some cases the GPU. This can be repaired but has to be by a person with the right equipment and skills as it is very difficult to resolder all those tiny legs back to the board without bridging connections etc.
Genius is an immense capacity for taking trouble |

RE: Xbox 360 Video Problems.
Sandy, your post makes no sense. We're talking about sharing files and you're talking about resoldering connections?
